Para-Site is a site-specific theatre company that writes and creates new performances for unusual and exciting urban spaces. Our company strives to show that theatre can take place anywhere and not just in traditional venues. We use a variety of performance techniques including physical theatre and contemporary dance to tell intimate stories which focus on the individual in society. Our work often takes place in conjunction with art installations or amongst other performances to reflect on themes in collaboration with other artists. We hope to demonstrate new and imaginative forms of expression and encourage our audience members to reconsider general preconceptions about new writing and contemporary theatre. But whilst promoting experimentation and diversity we aim to keep our work accessible to new theatregoers and local audiences by focusing on recognisable human experiences which are touching and entertaining.
